Second Beach, also known as Sachuest Beach, is one of the most consistent and well-regarded breaks in Rhode Island, sitting between Newport and the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge. The Town of Middletown runs a public cam pointed at the surf end of the beach, free to view on the town’s own website.

About the Break

Second Beach is a beach break exposed to south and southeast swell, generally considered more consistent than the more sheltered First Beach in Newport nearby. It draws a real local surf crowd and holds a range of conditions well.

About the Cam Host

The Town of Middletown hosts this cam publicly and free of charge, at 315 Sachuest Point Rd, Middletown, RI 02842. The camera feed itself is provided to the town by Surfline, though no login or subscription is required to view it here.
