Nahant Beach sits on the eastern edge of the Nahant peninsula, about 12 miles north of Boston. It’s one of the most accessible surf spots for the greater Boston surf community — north-facing, exposed to northeast swells, and rideable from late summer through early spring. The cam is hosted by Ocean House Surf and Skate, the local shop that has become the hub of North Shore Massachusetts surfing.
About the Break
Nahant is a wide sandy beach break that works best on northeast groundswells, which arrive with regularity from September through April. The break is generally forgiving and suits beginner to intermediate surfers, though it can get punchy during bigger swells. It’s a popular spot for the Boston-area surf scene given its proximity and consistent exposure. Early morning sessions before the sea breeze fills in typically offer the cleanest conditions.

The cam is provided by Ocean House Surf and Skate, located at 2A Wilson Rd, Nahant, MA 01908. Ocean House is the surf shop for the North Shore of Massachusetts — lessons, rentals, gear, and local surf knowledge all in one spot right near the beach.
