Long Sands Beach is one of southern Maine’s most popular surf spots, located in York along a wide, sandy stretch of coastline. The beach picks up northeast and east swells cleanly, with the best conditions in late summer through fall. The cam is hosted by Liquid Dreams Surf Shop, a local shop right on Long Beach Avenue that’s been outfitting Maine surfers for years.
About the Break
Long Sands is a beach break best suited for beginner to intermediate surfers. It’s exposed and consistent, with waves ranging from small mushy rollers in summer to punchy overhead surf during northeast storm swells. Parking can be tight in summer — go early.
