Huntington Beach Pier is one of the most iconic surf spots in Southern California, sitting in the heart of “Surf City USA.” HBcams provides a free live view from the pier itself, capturing the surf, sand, and crowd in real time.

About the Break

The pier creates two distinct breaks — North Side and South Side — each working differently depending on swell direction. North Side handles south swells well; South Side lights up on west and northwest swells. The wave is a beach break with sand bottom, but the pier pilings add structure that shapes the wave and creates a wedge-like takeoff on the right swell. Huntington is famous for its consistency, and famously crowded, especially on weekends, holidays, and during the U.S. Open of Surfing in late July.
